AC Shadows Reveals Unexpected Attack on Titan Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a surprising crossover event that breaks traditional predictions, Ubisoft has revealed an digital partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Questline Revealed
According to the authorized announcement, "An unusual meeting draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a original quest, where rumors of forbidden rituals and fearsome changes reverberate through the shadows." The narrative introduces a "unusually dressed woman named Ada" who assigns the duo with traveling into the Gemstone Grotto—a key location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a secret sect.
The mission focuses on "bizarre experiments and a monstrous adversary" and is accessible to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Locations and Transformations
The teaser features the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The teaser concludes with a powerful scene showing a character, presumably the hostage, morphing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Items and Extra Features
Players who finish the quest will acquire an exclusive katana alongside several objects hidden throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also features premium Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-based costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Unique implements
- Survey Corps steed
Newest Free Story Addition
This update also brings the game's newest free story content, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted adventure pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange signature abilities: Naoe introduces a theatrical interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-lethal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Enigma" also contains a new environmental puzzle that may ultimately explain some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
