I'll overwhelm 'credible combatant' Paul - Joshua
The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be shown live on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the pair met personally to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Former two time unified heavyweight champion Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami arena on December 19th.
Boxer's Mentality
"I'm going to damage his features and damage his physique. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35, declared.
"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.
"I will really want to injure him. That's my intention."
Respectful Exchange
Despite these statements, a composed Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally recognized for his theatrics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul instead targeted former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Joshua, at the same time, targeted British opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a victory for Paul.
"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer said.
"I respect him for that."
Serious Opponent
Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he remarked.
Jake Paul's Background
Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since turning professional.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
However, the relative newcomer continues to be one of boxing's greatest money-making draws, consistently making huge financial rewards.
Prediction and Belief
The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in round four or five and stated he would stop the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly being planned for two years from now.
"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul stated.
Size Disparity
As both boxers participated in the usual confrontation, with their height and weight contrast on show, it drove home just how improbable this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is really going ahead.
