Iran is willing to resume nuclear talks with the United States provided that it is handled with "dignity" and "respect", Iran's top diplomat has declared.

The Iranian diplomat said only diplomacy was effective, and disclosed new appeals had been made by intermediaries to reopen discussions with the American leadership. He asserted Iran possessed no unreported enrichment locations, and Tehran could not yet allow the International Atomic Energy Agency to access attacked atomic facilities for safety concerns.

Navigating a Challenging Path

Araghchi is treading a complex path since Iran does not want appear to be acting from a situation of vulnerability, and he consistently maintained that Iran had emerged stronger defensively and emotionally from the coordinated strike on its nuclear sites in June.

He was addressing at a defense forum in Tehran where he reiterated that Iran had "a fundamental entitlement to enrich uranium within its borders that it will always maintain" – the primary cause of the stalemate in the earlier negotiations.

Previous Discussions Suddenly Terminated

The previous five rounds of discussions between the US and Iran were concluded unexpectedly and hostile conclusion on 12 June when the Israeli government, with American backing, struck Tehran's atomic facilities in a fortnight-long engagement that culminated with the American leader claiming the facilities had been obliterated. Subsequently, EU nations exercised their privilege to reinstate global restrictions, but Iran insists they have not had a significant effect.

Iranian officials said they felt they had reached a "ideal resolution" to the enrichment issue in prior discussions, when it was agreed an domestic cooperative with Washington's engagement could refine atomic fuel. The citizens of Tehran have grown more resilient, more integrated, and more endorsing of the administration and the state in the wake of this invasion."
