Zohran Mamdani Vows a 'Fresh Chapter' for New York City in Maiden Address
On his first day in the mayor's office, Zohran Mamdani vowed to “transform” America's largest city, declaring “a different age” and an audacious commencement to his tenure.
An Unprecedented Figure
The 34-year-old political star, who just a year ago remained a relatively obscure state assemblyman, has become the city's first Muslim mayor. He additionally marked a milestone by being the first to be take the oath of office using the Islamic holy text.
